About
I live in the Hudson Valley (on Time Magazine’s list of one of the hundred best places in the world) with my husband and dogs, Sophie and Puppysam.
I have an MFA in creative writing and a couple of other degrees, which allowed me to teach writing at The Culinary Institute of America for over 20 years. I’ve worked as an assistant editor for a now-defunct publishing house and as a journalist/essayist for a now-defunct newspaper chain. I’ve also been a counselor in a shelter for battered women and a fan-mail respondent for Fred Rogers of Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood. I have co-authored a book that now contains outdated information and have begun to publish short fiction and humor essays, aiming for collections.
